A Sample Active Day on the Danube
A typical active day in the Wachau might begin with the ship docking in Melk. While some guests tour the abbey, the cycling group sets off along the riverside path toward Dürnstein through orchards and vineyards — Scenic describes a guided 20-mile e-bike ride to Dürnstein on select sailings. The ship sails on and meets the riders downstream, so there is no need to ride back. In the afternoon there is time to climb to the castle ruins above Dürnstein, where Richard the Lionheart was once held, before re-boarding for dinner.
